What to expect

Getting Started

Our virtual practice is geared toward anyone looking to begin their journey with therapy. You can contact us via email or phone and we will respond to you within 24 hours (unless you receive an out of office or the message advises you differently). When we reach out to you, we will either arrange a 15 minute phone consult or schedule a first appointment. We use an online platform, Jane App to schedule sessions, provide reminders, manage payments and communicate with our team.

Before your first session, your counsellor will provide you with an Intake Form to complete online as well as send you an invite for your consultation or first session.

Your first session

In your first session, consent forms, privacy policies and confidentiality policies will be discussed. We do this to ensure that you, the client, are entering into a therapeutic relationship with a good understanding of what that encompasses. Payment is taken either prior to or at the beginning of a counselling session. Also, the first session is considered an intake session where your counsellor will ask many questions to have a better understanding of your situation so the best counselling approach for you can be determined.

Things to note

A session for an individual client lasts 50 minutes and will generally not be extended if the client has arrived late. Should you need to cancel an appointment, please give us at least 24 hours notice or you will be charged the full fee for your session.
